The Success of "Paint the Pony"

The Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center (CTRC), a nonprofit organization based in Longmont, Colo., has been assisting people with mental and physical disabilities through equine assisted therapy since 1980. Every year, CTRC hosts a fundraising event called Paint the Pony, where stripes are painted on a horse statue for every $10,000 raised. Mikey (short for Michelangelo), the name chosen for the horse statue, raised $130,000 for the center.

As Paint the Pony ends and a new year begins, the organization has become more committed to helping those who struggle with a disability. Click here to learn more about Paint the Pony and CTRC’s mission to help people through therapeutic riding.
