At the Marquise Invitational Auction at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse ShowLast nigh! Friday, February 23, was a night for the history books at the Marquise Auction during the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show. Legend is a fiberglass horse that was painted by the well-known artist Suzanne Economopoulos and is a part of the Arabian Horses for Humanity project. Legend was purchased for an impressive $75,000.00 by Dan Grossman with an additional $25,000.00 donated by Arabian Sole for a grand total of $100,000.00. The proceeds of this purchase will go to benefit Warrior Horses for Warrior Kids.
Warrior Horses for Warrior Kids was created by Ryan Melendez to bring awareness to Leukemia. Proceeds of the program will go to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS). Melendez has raised over $400,000 so far for LLS and has been named LLS Man of the Year. He offered his reaction to this historic purchase, “We continue to be amazed, and grateful for the generosity of the Arabian Horse Community. Special thanks to the Grossman family and Arabian Soul for their incredible contributions. Being able to match Warrior Kids to our Arabian horses is a vision come true. The most rewarding part is funding pediatric cancer research to find a CURE! Arabian Horses for Humanity is a project that began in the fall of 2016.
